In addition to providing primary care for adults in the specialty of internal medicine, the physicians specialize in the treatment of patients with AIDS/HIV. The clinic also offers a full range of services including laboratory and X-ray. Some tests may require advance scheduling. These appointments will be made to coincide with your physician visit.
Appointments
We are currently accepting new patients.
All visits are handled by appointment and scheduled with the physician of your choice whenever possible. Call (316) 293-1840 to schedule and appointment.
If you are a new patient, you will receive a packet of information with the necessary forms and information. Please check in at the reception desk 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time with your completed forms. The receptionist will gather the information from you along with your insurance information. We will be happy to file the incurred charges with your insurance company on your behalf.
If, for some reason, you are unable to keep an appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours before the appointment to cancel and reschedule. If you miss three appointments, your physician may review your records and determine if you'll continue to be seen in our clinic.
Referrals
If you have insurance that requires a referral, please call your primary care physician to have a referral mailed to us or faxed to (316) 858-1670. The referral must be received prior to the scheduled appointment.
We require 48 hours advance notice for completion of a referral for visits to other physician offices and to emergency rooms. Same day referrals will not be done except for emergencies. Our staff will ensure that you are going to the right physician for your insurance plan.
Financial Responsibility
You are responsible for all charges incurred for your medical care. If you have a Ryan White Card it is your responsibility to make sure that it is current and that we have a current copy of this card in your record. Failure to keep the card current may result in charges being billed to you.
Non-Covered Services
You are responsible for services that are denied by Medicaid or other insurance as non-covered services.
Co-Pay
If you have insurance that requires a co-pay, the co-pay must be paid at check in.
Prescription Refills
Call your pharmacy for refills. The pharmacy will fax us the request. Prescription refill authorizations will be processed Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm only. If a written prescription is required, the nurse will call when it is ready for pick-up.
Hospitals
As a group, we utilize area hospitals. Our primary hospital is Via Christi-St. Francis, where our hospitalist teams care for our hospitalized patients. Your hospital admission will be determines by your personal preference and/or the requirements of your health insurance company.
After Hours Contact
For urgent concerns after hours, physicians can be contacted by calling the Physician Exchange at (316) 262-6262.
For emergencies occurring after hours, go to the emergency room indicated by your insurance company. A phone call to your physician ahead of time may be helpful in allowing your physician to make arrangements for your care.
